Juneteenth

Established as a U.S. federal holiday in 2022, Juneteeth commemorates emancipation dayfor African Americans. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas on June 19, 1865, when enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.
